Hey Dan

Here's my take on it. The more relevant the case study the better. Now, it can be relevant in a number of different ways. The main two are by industry and by goal. Both if you can but that's serious utopia.

I've taken recently in our proposal templates to actually writing the case study as part of the proposal almost. Say you're doing a website re-design for instance - adding a case study from the perspective of "Here's a happy comment from a guy called John who we did a website for" is about as engaging as watching paint dry.

Writing a case study as more like an introduction to that person or a short story gives it a completely different dimension. It's engaging, interesting and more relevant. As for length - As a guide 2/3 paragraphs. Including an image of some sort it always going to add credibility. Of course, a testimonial to back up your point.

Hope that helps :)

Indeed was a good piece! Well, 'Including the Case studies' is something I would rank #1 especially when you are signing a 4-5 figure WP gig where it is very important to connect with your customer's Psychology and re-assure them "We have successfully done something in past which is similar to you" It is very important to write a meaningful proposal as these days many agencies fail to do that consistently.

Writing a big & lofty proposal is a waste of time, better to make it succinct and narrow it down to specific points which makes impact on your customers mind and help you take the project home swiftly. Keep educating us @michael_killen:disqus

Hey Dan!

Sorry for not seeing this! I don't think case studies need to be long. We have some that are just a page. Usually, I'm talking through them with the customer so I'll have a chance to expand.

I haven't used Hubspot's template, but ours is really just a shortened proposal. Who they are, what they needed, what we did. I'll try to get a testimonial in there too.
